Friday, April 16th from 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Ballad to Brushstroke: An exploration of music-inspired art
Creative expression can manifest in, among other things, paintings, music, sculpture, the written word and dance and when any of these forms of art combine the results can be wonderous.

Artist Stacy Bowie’s ongoing series, Music set 2 ArtTM unites two art forms: painting and music brought together by the interpretion and translation of music onto the canvas. The process begins with a song or instrumental piece and by listening intently to the lyrics and music what she hears becomes her inspiration for her acrylic paintings.

Karen Schuman's Third Friday Gallery will present “Ballad to Brushstroke: An Exploration of music-inspired art” during the month of April featuring the work of Stacy Bowie as well as Karen Schuman, Bruce MacMartin, Christine Cipra and Christie Chew-Wallace who will present their music-inspired works of art. An artists’ opening reception will be held on Friday, April 16th from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at The Third Friday Gallery, 43 Harrison Street, Oak Park, Illinois. The exhibit will run through mid-May.
